2025 felt like a Johnson musical dramedy: There was travel, safaris, singing, musicals, family milestones--and just enough home disasters (roof, fence, carpet, stolen credit card) to keep us humble. We coped by making music, earning a degree, riding bikes, joining a choir, going to therapy, and lighting candles when the power went out.
We ended the year doing what we do best—eating, laughing, singing, playing games, and proving once again that chaos, creativity, love, and squirrels in the attic can absolutely coexist under one roof.
We led a group of 22 friends to Kenya for two days in Nairobi and six days on safari in the Masai Mara. Myriam's sister Astrid came, as well as Scott's sister Susie and her boyfriend Alain.
We visited London on our way to Nairobi that included a walking tour called "Great Scott Tours." On our way to Belgium for a headstone ceremony for Myriam's mom, we stopped in London again to see our niece Barbara and her family, saw the musical SIX and a jazz concert at the iconic Royal Albert Hall. Even went to Richmond to see where they film Ted Lasso.
Sarah goes to Guatemala for several months for a Spanish language intensive (5 hours a day, one-on-one).
Eva gets their Masters in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine. Bikes from San Francisco to L.A. again for the AIDS/LifeCycle fundraiser (is cheered on by Aunt Susie above). Hikes a week on the PCT.
We visit Tucson twice to celebrate friends, and stay with our friends Cyndy and Peter who came to Boulder for World Singing Day.
People around the world sang All of Us and other songs on World Singing Day, enjoying the simple act of singing together as a community. We had wonderful turnout for the 10th annual sing-along in Boulder.
Charlie. I mean, come on. Just look at that face. It's love incarnate.

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to more singing, playing, talking, learning, growing, traveling, not to mention, voting, staying engaged and standing up for what's right. Love, Scott, Myriam, Sarah, Eva and Charlie
